John suffered a sudden onset in 2022 due to a 34-year-old injury that resulted in crushing his spinal cord (myelopathy) and left him disabled. John’s back problem resulted in his now limited mobility. John and Teresa are on different life paths. After two years of difficult recovery, Teresa is continuing the Homestead, but they are on separate paths. They continue to support each other and work on maintaining a friendship and working relationship while remaining committed to their family obligations.
